CESS Technology Monthly Report | Progress in December 2024
CESS , a decentralized data infrastructure, is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage network and CD²N network that supports online data storage and real-time sharing, providing a full-stack solution for the storage and retrieval of high-frequency dynamic data in Web3.
CESS Network is a Layer 1 built on the DePIN concept, characterized by decentralization, efficiency, security, privacy, and scalability. CESS supports large-scale commercial storage and can accommodate phenomenal decentralized applications (dApps); CESS supports the monetization of data and the free flow/sharing of data value, while achieving user data privacy protection and data sovereignty return to data owners in a trustless manner, thereby constructing a prosperous, diverse, and sovereign data economy new ecosystem.
Important Submissions, Modifications, and Releases
Blockchain Network The CESS testnet has been updated to version v0.7.8-venus, consisting of consensus nodes and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serve as the "data certification station" in the CESS network (by TEE Node). Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the "data storage pool" in the CESS network. Here are the progress updates for this month:
1. Consensus Nodes [v0.7.8-venus]
Upgraded the CD²N cache protocol contract, improving the query and confirmation mechanism for cache orders;
Fixed the issue where CESS chain consensus nodes did not confirm blocks after the substrate framework upgrade;
Fixed the memory leak issue in the RPC nodes of the CESS chain after the substrate framework upgrade;
Fixed the block synchronization issue caused by abnormal operation of the CESS chain client module after the substrate framework upgrade;
Fixed the RPC node crash issue caused by module conflicts after the substrate framework upgrade;
2. Storage Nodes [v0.7.16]
Completed file transfer testing for storage nodes after the CESS chain framework upgrade;
Upgraded the idle space proof module for storage nodes, fixing the issue where the state did not roll back during certain errors;
Upgraded the service file random challenge module for storage nodes, alleviating the pressure of single requests through multiple submissions of chunk proofs;
Completed preliminary preparations for the recovery plan of abnormal idle space status for testnet storage nodes;
3. TEE Nodes [v0.7.8-venus]
Upgraded the verification mechanism for idle space proofs, restoring the abnormal idle space proof status for some storage nodes;
Fixed the inconsistency issue between the Master Key and the records on the CESS chain;
Fixed the issue where services could not operate normally due to block synchronization issues;
Fixed the issue where blocks could not be verified due to RPC node crashes;
Products
CESS is committed to providing practical storage services and CD²N services for Web3, meeting large-scale commercial storage needs, achieving millisecond-level data retrieval and return. CESS has pioneered decentralized object storage services (DeOSS), and the product ecosystem of the CESS network is gradually becoming richer and more prosperous. It has currently incubated innovative applications such as online file sharing tools (DeShare), public chain snapshot storage services, and CESS cloud storage. You are welcome to experience them. Here are the progress updates for this month:
1. Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Completed file upload and download testing for CD²N L2 layer nodes;
Completed testing for the external work module of the CD²N main node and the TEE trusted auditing module;
Completed data interaction testing between the CD²N main node and L2 layer nodes;
Completed the development of the new gateway service for CD²N;
Completed testing for the traffic auditing and reward distribution mechanism for CD²N nodes;
Completed the adaptation of various modules of CD²N nodes to the new cache protocol contract;
Completed stress testing for file upload/download of DeOSS after the upgrade of the development network CESS chain;
Upgraded the encryption data transmission algorithm between CD²N nodes to enhance the security of data sharing;
2. Official Website (cess.network)
Optimized UI details on the homepage of the official website, improving the display of some text content;
Added a blog interface to the homepage of the official website to better showcase CESS news and latest developments to users;
