What is a CESS Wallet Account

The CESS account holds the user's digital assets in the CESS network. Users need to properly safeguard their wallet mnemonic phrases and backup files, as once they are leaked or lost, users may permanently lose the assets in their accounts. There are two methods to create an account: using the CESS blockchain explorer or using the Polkadot.js wallet.

Method 1: Create an Account Using the CESS Blockchain Explorer

1. Go to the CESS blockchain explorer and click on "Accounts" under the top navigation bar. Then click "Add account".

2. Make sure to back up the 12-word "Mnemonic seed". Check "I have saved my mnemonic seed safely" and click "Next".

3. Enter the account name and password, then click "Next".

4. Click "Save" to back up the account information. Please remember to keep the backup file safe, formatted as follows: "cXhLyxxxxxxVcS8AVxxxxxju.json".

Method 2: Create an Account Using the Polkadot.js Wallet

1. Use Chrome or Firefox to visit the official Polkadot.js link and install the Polkadot.js wallet. The steps are as follows:

Click on the "extension" link inside "polkadot.js.org/extension".

2. Select the corresponding browser and download the polkadot.js extension wallet to your browser. After installation, you can pin the wallet for easy access.

3. Click on the "Polkadot Extension Wallet" icon in the upper right corner of the browser to bring up the Accounts dialog box. Then click the "+" in the upper right corner and select "Create new account".

4. During the account creation process, be sure to keep the 12-word "MNEMONIC SEED" (mnemonic phrase) safe. Then enter the account name and password, and click "Add the account with the generated seed". The Polkadot account is successfully created!
