ChainCatcher news, WazirX co-founder Nischal Shetty commented on the recent security incident, stating that the platform has sought help from several different Indian and international authorities, but declined to disclose specific names. WazirX has already filed a complaint with the police in Mumbai and reported the incident to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In).

WazirX declined to comment on whether the possibility of being acquired by other companies is included in the options for seeking help.

Shetty stated that he cannot disclose how much INR WazirX has on its books, as this could "provide a new attack vector for malicious actors." He also noted that the reason WazirX currently does not allow cryptocurrency withdrawals is due to a lack of regulatory transparency.
