On February 29, the OKX Web3 wallet, in collaboration with Babylon, BOB, and Polygon, successfully concluded the "Bitcoin Renaissance" themed event held during ETH Denver. Top industry leaders were invited to attend this event, including Babylon co-founder & National Academy of Engineering member David Tse, BitVM founder Robin Linus, Polygon founder Sandeep Naliwal, Osmosis founder Sunny Aggarwal, Messari co-founder Ryan Selkis, as well as OKX Ventures partner Jeff Ren and Castle Island Ventures head Nic Carter. They engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as the evolution of the Bitcoin ecosystem and the synergies between Bitcoin and PoS chains, sharing exclusive insights.

In the first roundtable themed "Bitcoin and PoS Ecosystem Synergy," OKX Ventures partner Jeff Ren shared insights on the collaboration between the OKX Web3 wallet and the Bitcoin ecosystem, along with various core topics. According to Jeff Ren, significant efforts have been invested in building Web3 products, and the current OKX Web3 wallet is the only wallet that supports four Bitcoin addresses as a Cosmos wallet.

With the second wave of the Bitcoin network approaching, various Bitcoin Layer 2 networks have emerged, including EVM-compatible solutions and zero-knowledge proof Optimistic Rollups. Currently, more activities related to BTC are unfolding. In this regard, Jeff Ren believes that the increase in discussions and exchanges related to Bitcoin is a positive development. The OKX Web3 wallet is enhancing user experience and services through lively discussions and continuous iterations. For example, users can trade Bitcoin assets through OKX DEX and participate in Bitcoin on-chain staking via OKX DeFi, among other activities. Especially with the emergence of narratives such as Bitcoin ETFs and various new projects, more developers are focusing on and participating in the Bitcoin network, which gives us confidence in this ecosystem. Our team has already researched over 30 Bitcoin Layer 2 networks through investments and collaborations and will continue to focus on and support quality developers.

Regarding the viewpoint that PoS seems to be replacing PoW as the mainstream consensus mechanism, Jeff Ren stated that while PoS has gained traction due to its energy efficiency and potential scalability advantages, PoW still possesses several irreplaceable benefits. For instance, as demonstrated by the Bitcoin network over the past decade, PoW has a good track record in securing blockchain networks, encourages decentralization, and allows anyone with sufficient computational resources to participate as miners. Additionally, PoW can provide resilience against Sybil attacks. In other words, PoW can serve as a security layer for PoS chains, elevating security and decentralization to another level.

It is reported that OKX Ventures focuses on exploring the best blockchain projects globally, supporting cutting-edge blockchain technologies and innovations, promoting the sustainable development of the global blockchain industry, concentrating on long-term structural value investments, and helping entrepreneurs who contribute to the blockchain industry build great companies.
