Yesterday, the Ethereum conference EDCON (Community Ethereum Development Conference) 2023 announced the final shortlisted projects for Super Demo. It is reported that the Ethereum conference EDCON is one of the important events in the Ethereum ecosystem, aimed at promoting the development and application of Ethereum technology and fostering the healthy development of the Ethereum ecosystem. Super Demo aims to discover and support the most promising early blockchain projects. Being shortlisted for Super Demo can provide projects with funding, incubation, media exposure, technical support, and business collaboration, among other forms of support and assistance, helping projects to develop and grow better.

According to the disclosure, there are a total of 4 projects shortlisted for this Super Demo: the Ethereum storage rollup project EthStorage; the open-source infrastructure public product Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS) for on-chain or off-chain proofs; the custom on-chain vault for DeFi asset management Aspis Protocol; and the cross-chain, decentralized smart contract automation solution Nerif Network.

Among them, EthStorage stood out and won first place in the Ethereum conference EDCON 2023 Super Demo selection.

EthStorage

Official website: https://eth-store.w3eth.io/#/

Positioning: Decentralized storage

EthStorage is a storage rollup built on Ethereum that provides programmable dynamic storage based on Ethereum data availability, particularly EIP-4844 and Danksharding. EthStorage aims to reuse the security of the Ethereum mainnet, regularly submitting storage proofs from the EthStorage Layer 2 network to Ethereum L1, while greatly expanding Ethereum storage at a much lower cost—achieving PB-level capacity at a fraction of the storage cost.

In addition to providing users with decentralized data storage and management services, EthStorage can also provide data support for other blockchain applications and services. By integrating with other blockchain applications, EthStorage can help users achieve seamless data switching and sharing between different applications, enhancing user experience and convenience.

It is reported that the project team has received official funding from the Ethereum Foundation twice, for research on data availability and L1 storage proofs.

Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS)

Official website: https://attest.sh/

Positioning: Decentralized identity authentication and authorization service

The Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS) is a blockchain-based authentication service designed to provide users with a more secure and reliable method of identity authentication and authorization. This service utilizes Ethereum smart contracts and blockchain technology to offer trustworthy, tamper-proof identity authentication and authorization services, providing higher security and assurance for users and applications. EAS stores users' identity information on the Ethereum blockchain and manages and verifies it through smart contracts. Users can sign and authenticate their identity information using private keys, while applications can verify users' identity and authorization information using public keys, achieving identity authentication and authorization management.

Aspis Protocol

Official website: https://app.aspis.finance/

Positioning: Decentralized insurance service

Aspis Protocol is a decentralized insurance protocol based on Ethereum, aimed at providing users with safer, more efficient, and transparent insurance services. The protocol utilizes smart contracts and blockchain technology to implement decentralized processes for insurance applications, claims, and payouts, effectively reducing issues such as insurance fraud and information asymmetry. Aspis Protocol encodes insurance contracts as smart contracts and stores the contract terms and conditions on the Ethereum blockchain. Users can create insurance contracts through smart contracts and set relevant insurance terms and conditions. When an insured event occurs, the smart contract automatically executes the corresponding payout and claims operations, verified and confirmed by other participants on the blockchain, ensuring fairness and transparency in payouts.

Nerif Network

Official website: https://nerif.network/

Positioning: Decentralized data marketplace protocol

Nerif Network is a decentralized data marketplace protocol based on Ethereum, aimed at providing users with safer, more efficient, transparent, and trustworthy data trading and sharing services. The protocol utilizes blockchain technology and smart contracts to achieve decentralized storage, management, trading, and sharing of data, providing higher security and assurance for data owners and users. Nerif Network stores data on the blockchain and manages and trades it through smart contracts. Data owners can upload data to the blockchain via smart contracts and set access permissions and prices for the data. Data users can purchase data through smart contracts and gain access to the data once the conditions for access permissions and pricing are met.

Additionally, Nerif Network can provide data support for other blockchain applications and services. By integrating with other blockchain applications, Nerif Network can help users achieve seamless data switching and sharing between different applications, enhancing user experience and convenience.
