The 3WW3 Research Institute's "Spark Incubation Public Welfare Program" officially launched

Geopolitical games, large-scale global competition, the paradigm shift from Web2 to Web3… What is the path for Chinese Web3 to break through? On April 7, the launch ceremony of the "Spark Incubation Public Welfare Program," jointly initiated by 3WW3 Afro-Asian Web3 Research Institute, was successfully unveiled. Several Web3 pioneers foresaw industry development opportunities and discussed how Chinese builders can break through. On that day, the live broadcast viewership exceeded 33,000.

According to Tracy, one of the initiators of the "Spark Incubation Public Welfare Program" and the Asia-Pacific head of Jackdaw Capital, the program is dedicated to helping tens of millions of Chinese talents transition to Web3. The first phase will release twelve courses. The 3WW3 Afro-Asian Web3 Research Institute has currently united with EthereumCN, Harvard Innovation, Zhejiang University Blockchain Association, National University Creative Association, Xian DAO, San Kuai Qian (a community of former Meituan employees), Tokendance, and hundreds of other domestic and international communities and academic organizations. In 2023, a year of AI emergence and technological breakthroughs, discussing the technological trends in the Web3 field, distributed algorithm expert and Tsinghua University Cross-Information Research Institute PhD Dai Weiguo outlined the historical development of blockchain underlying infrastructure from the perspective of next-generation infrastructure, focusing on five directions. Dr. Dai believes that currently, the lack of unified protocol standards and cumbersome asset management systems actually restrict the explosive growth of infrastructure for users and developers.

How to help developers and C-end users define business norms, development norms, and interaction norms may present opportunities and will be more conducive to the true value network of Web3.

British IET Fellow and Senior Chief Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Chen Shiping provided an accessible explanation of the components of blockchain technology and believes that DeFi, DID, Supply Chain, and DAO are all worthy opportunities to focus on. He also mentioned, "In fact, the Web3 space has just opened up, and there is still a lot of room for imagination. Just like when a new programming language appears, what we have achieved so far is merely our imagination, not the technology itself."

The two technical experts will provide in-depth analysis of cross-chain protocols, underlying operating systems, and other foundational Web3 technologies in the upcoming courses of the "Spark Incubation Public Welfare Program."

There are opportunities in the Web3 industry to grasp cycles that can bring one closer to structural opportunities, making direction particularly important. Senior DeFi expert and initiator of ERC-3525 Will42 believes: "The new Web3 era is a comprehensive and multi-faceted tide encompassing information technology, cryptographic technology, digital asset technology, and even AI technology. I do not want everyone to narrow Web3 down to just blockchain or only the field of digital assets/digital currencies.

This way, we can use encryption where it is suitable and avoid using blockchain where it is not, thus being more beneficial to the overall development of Web3." In the roundtable forum "How to Participate in WEB3 in 2023 and Market Outlook," several guests shared their insights.

He also believes that AI + Web3 is a direction worth focusing on, which can be explored and implemented from three aspects: productivity tools and developer tools, user entry points, and building a truly virtual world.

"In this year of breaking through, Web3 may provide emerging countries and regions with opportunities for leapfrogging." According to Old Wang, an initiator of the 3WW3 Afro-Asian Web3 Research Institute, the extremely high inflation rates globally are accelerating broader user adoption of Web3. "Many countries in the Afro-Asian region have great development potential, with a large number of young people and relatively high internet coverage. At the same time, most areas in Afro-Asia have relatively weak internet and financial applications. Combined with the previously mentioned inflation issue, developing inclusive finance in many emerging countries and regions will provide more people with access to financial services.

The large-scale landing scenarios are further clarified, and we look forward to a concentrated explosion of application landings. From a technological development perspective, it is also a year of acceleration. With the large-scale emergence of AI technology, we predict that many Infra and application layer projects will begin to integrate AI, which may further lower the barriers for developers or significantly reduce user participation barriers. We also see a large influx of outstanding Web2 talents into Web3, and their rich experience in product and operations will further accelerate the Web3 industry."

The vision of the 3WW3 Afro-Asian Web3 Research Institute is to unite more Chinese talents to move towards the emerging markets of nearly 7 billion people in Afro-Asia, accelerating more people's participation in experiencing the development process of Web3. China has the most outstanding, hardworking, and creative product technicians in the world, while the Afro-Asian region, with relatively weak financial and internet services, is currently the area with the greatest potential for the value and application landing of Web3. Combining the two may provide Web3 with a large user base and offer more opportunities for entrepreneurs to create value.
