On November 24, the DID application KEY3.id launched the first blue-chip NFT bound .bayc digital identity (DID) at 20:00 (UTC+8) today, and opened minting to all Bored Ape (BAYC) NFT holders. BAYC NFT holders can claim their corresponding numbered DID for free on KEY3.id, such as 0000.bayc. The .bayc is one-to-one bound with the Bored Ape NFT, with a total of 10,000 available.

According to its official introduction, the .bayc DID is the first ABT (Asset Bound Token) bound to a blue-chip NFT, exclusively for NFT holders and non-transferable. KEY3.id CEO Kory Pak claimed on his Twitter that .bayc may usher in the era of "Asset as your DID."

The launch of .bayc has garnered significant attention from many BAYC NFT holders, including well-known Web3 KOLs. Game Space CEO Michael Cameron minted 6669.bayc and changed his Twitter name to "Michael Cameron 6669.bayc"; former Huobi Global CEO 0xLivio minted 2883.bayc and also changed his Twitter name. Discussions about .bayc have rapidly spread across major Bored Ape communities.

Michael Cameron stated: ".bayc perfectly combines the top-tier nature of the BAYC domain with the memorability of 4D domains, and only NFT holders can claim it, effectively reflecting the assets of the domain holders. It is expected to quickly become the most sought-after DID, and may even drive up the prices of top NFTs like Bored Apes, especially benefiting premium assets among them."

Several Bored Ape NFT holders expressed to me that the most valuable aspect of .bayc lies in its ABT characteristics, which ensure its seriousness, meaning it follows the NFT and cannot be traded separately. Once the NFT is transferred or traded, its corresponding DID will also be destroyed.

KEY3.id CEO Kory Pak stated that KEY3.id will collaborate with dozens of wallets, DeFi, GameFi, SocialFi, and other DAPPs, including Bitkeep Wallet and KuCoin Wallet, to apply the .bayc domain in scenarios such as identity identification, transfers, social interactions, and airdrops.

In addition to .bayc, KEY3.id will also support .punk, .doodle, .mfer, and 20 other blue-chip NFT bound DIDs. According to its official website, a community voting event will be launched in early December, and the NFT project with the highest votes that week will open for domain minting.
