The DID application KEY3.id officially launched on November 10 at 20:00 (UTC+8). KEY3.id strategically released the .id domain and opened an early bird event for all ENS holders, allowing them to claim their existing domain names for free. Users can use .id to store and resolve multi-chain addresses, receive various Token and NFT transfers, and participate in various supported DAPP scenarios as a DID. On November 7, the GameFi Future Fund under the Game Space platform announced a $3 million investment in KEY3.id.

In just 48 hours of the event's preheating, KEY3.id's Discord users exceeded 16,000, and Twitter followers surpassed 22,000, with over 16,000 users participating in the Early Bird event. KEY3.id has partnered with multiple wallets, DeFi, exchanges, and DAO organizations, including BitKeep Wallet, Element.market, iToken Wallet, Bybit, KuCoin Wallet, Coinhub Wallet, and Onto Wallet, to jointly build an application network for .id domains.

KEY3.id's CEO Kory Pak stated: "Choosing .id as a TLD is to express that Web3 is a unified world, and there should not be differentiation or factionalization at the entry level. We should encourage the integration of ecosystems and co-build the Web3 landscape."

Compared to existing domain or DID projects, KEY3's .id domain has its notable features:

1) Free for Life

KEY3.id is a free claim, permanently owned, and no-renewal-needed DID project aimed at providing every user entering Web3 with a free and usable decentralized identity. KEY3.id has pioneered a new phase of DID called Free to Own, granting users the experience of obtaining a DID for free with low barriers, potentially attracting new users to join Web3.

2) Non-factionalization

Choosing .id as the main domain has profound significance. Most mainstream domain projects are factionalized by public chains, such as .eth, .bnb, .sol, etc., which are incompatible with each other, leading to fragmented user groups and isolated islands. Among many domains with obvious factional characteristics, .did appears more neutral and inclusive. The term itself is a smart choice.

3) Cross-chain Support

KEY3.id also supports cross-chain functionality, allowing a DID to bind addresses from multiple chains for multi-chain resolution. For users who frequently transfer across exchanges and wallets, they often have both ETH and TRON wallets. KEY3.id can bind multiple chain addresses and intelligently resolve by chain, making it convenient for users who frequently transfer. KEY3.id chose to deploy the first phase of .id on ETH, recognizing Ethereum's largest user base, with plans to support multi-chain deployment and applications in the future.

4) Fair Distribution

Additionally, KEY3.id has chosen a fairer distribution plan for quality domain names and a more decentralized DAO treasury. Given the current speculative nature of DID in digital domain scenarios, KEY3 has reserved short numeric domains with fewer than four digits, which will be fairly allocated to users who contribute significantly to community building through airdrops, auctions, and other means, with auction proceeds used to support project development.

5) Top-tier Support

In terms of ecosystem partners, KEY3.id has better resources from leading industry partners and quickly gained support from multiple wallets, DeFi, exchanges, and DAO organizations such as BitKeep Wallet, iToken Wallet, Bybit, KuCoin Wallet, Coinhub Wallet, Onto Wallet, and Element.market even before its launch.

With the support of numerous partners, KEY3.id can more widely provide Web3 users with free, fully self-controlled, no-renewal-needed DIDs, maximizing the ability for anyone in need to establish and use a digital identity, potentially becoming a new force in the DID space.
