According to a message from Chain Catcher, the "2022 Game Industry Status Report" released by the fan platform Fandom shows that the gaming community holds overwhelmingly negative views on NFTs, with the vast majority believing that NFTs have no necessity for existence. Only 7% of consumers consider NFTs an important part of the gaming sector, while 72% have a very negative view of NFTs. Additionally, 67% of consumers have only a basic understanding of NFTs or are completely unaware of them, and only 9% of gamers own NFTs. Furthermore, only 13% of gamers believe that NFTs and other blockchain technologies will significantly drive innovation in the gaming field, while 88% of gamers think that "pay-to-win" is detrimental to players.

Regarding the metaverse, 76% of fans reported that they have played games in the metaverse, with 48% of fans spending more time gaming in the metaverse than before. Most consumers (72%) are willing to use the metaverse for experiences and activities beyond gaming, including socializing, watching TV and movies, enjoying concerts, shopping, meeting celebrities, or attending sports events. However, brands still lag behind in capturing consumer interest in the metaverse. Compared to content provided by advertisers, players are more looking forward to creator-led content in the metaverse. (source link)
