ETH Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit
On May 20, the Ethereum Shanghai Web3.0 Developer Summit (hereinafter referred to as the "Summit") will be held "in the cloud" on multiple online platforms. The Summit will be jointly organized by the Ethereum Shanghai (ETH Shanghai) organizing committee, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "China Green Development Foundation"), and Business China. This Summit will focus on the theme of "The Impact of Web3.0 on the Future Landscape of the Internet," bringing together important guests from various fields, including political and business leaders, academics, industry executives, and influential Web3.0 developers from both domestic and international backgrounds, to discuss the future possibilities of China's internet technology practices.
Since its inception, this Summit has received significant attention from important relevant institutions both domestically and internationally, and has sparked widespread interest within the developer community. In addition to receiving strong support from Business China in organizing the conference, the Summit has also been selected for the "Important Academic Conference Guide (2022)" by the China Association for Science and Technology with the assistance of the China Green Development Foundation, reflecting the association's professional recognition of the Summit and its concerns about current internet technologies.
Dozens of influential political, business, and academic figures, developer representatives, and representatives from relevant institutions will attend this "cloud" Summit. Notable guests, including former U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, and Business China CEO Tin Pei Ling, will deliver keynote speeches during the main forum on the theme of the Summit. Additionally, nearly ten industry representatives will engage in high-level dialogues during the Summit's roundtable discussion, sharing professional opinions and exchanging views on key topics such as the future development prospects of the internet. Discussion topics will include, but are not limited to: global collaboration in Web3.0, the application and development of decentralized networks, new international cooperation paradigms during the pandemic, and discussions on the construction and application of future internet infrastructure and its philosophical concepts.
During the Summit, the Ethereum Shanghai organizing committee will also hold a hackathon competition online from May 20 to June 3, open for registration to developers worldwide. As a parallel event to the Summit, this hackathon will focus on the close connection between internet development and social responsibility practices, addressing pressing social issues such as internet security, carbon neutrality goals, and environmental protection. Unconstrained by travel restrictions due to the pandemic, the competition aims to connect elite developers from around the world through the cloud, facilitating deep exchanges and cooperation across borders, platforms, and languages for a shared future of the internet in a borderless technological landscape.
Since its inception in 2015, Ethereum (ETH) has undergone multiple upgrades and is now making a full push towards ETH 2.0. As the final update in the evolution from ETH 1.0 to ETH 2.0, Ethereum Shanghai has received sponsorship and strong support from the Ethereum Foundation. Ethereum Shanghai has always been committed to encouraging more developers to join the Web 3.0 development community, promoting the development of the Ethereum network, and co-creating a better future for the internet. This Summit will also be an important practice for Ethereum Shanghai to promote cross-disciplinary and cross-border innovative exchanges in internet technology.
