Ethereum client Geth releases version v1.12.1, recommending all users to upgrade to this version
ChainCatcher news, Go-Ethereum officially released Ethereum client Geth v1.12.1. Go Ethereum recommends all users to upgrade to this version, stating that it may be the largest maintenance release in its history, containing security-related fixes.The development work surrounding the upcoming Cancun hard fork has been the focus of this release cycle. Although Geth v1.12.1 is not yet ready for Cancun, this version includes basic type definitions and state transition logic for EIP-4844 "Shard Blob transactions," and has implemented a new memory pool blobpool for EIP-4844 transactions. The blobpool is not yet used by the p2p network and is still being tested in the Cancun development network. Additionally, Geth continues to support the Rinkeby testnet (#27406).
