In the first quarter of 2022, the losses caused by attack-type security incidents in the blockchain field reached approximately $1.2 billion, higher than the losses in any quarter of 2021. The amounts stolen from cross-chain bridge projects were substantial, and DeFi projects experienced the highest frequency of attacks. These two areas may also become key targets for hackers in the future.
