Ripple and BCG Report: The global asset tokenization market size could reach $18.9 trillion by 2033
ChainCatcher news, according to Coindesk, Ripple and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) predict in their latest report that the global asset tokenization market could reach $18.9 trillion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 53%.
Tokenization is the process of converting real-world assets such as bonds and real estate into digital assets via blockchain, which can enhance transaction efficiency and reduce costs. Currently, financial giants like JPMorgan and BlackRock have launched related pilot projects.
The report points out that the driving forces behind tokenization come from areas such as government bonds, private credit, and carbon markets, while also facing challenges like fragmented infrastructure and unclear regulations. Nevertheless, technology and market infrastructure are gradually improving, with clear rules established in places like Switzerland, the EU, and Singapore.
Ripple and BCG believe that tokenization could unlock trillions of dollars in value and facilitate the realization of a 24/7 market.
