After Trump suspended tariffs, traders cut bets on a Fed rate cut in May
ChainCatcher News, U.S. President Trump stated on Wednesday that the plan to significantly increase tariffs on most countries announced last week will be suspended for 90 days. Subsequently, traders significantly reduced their bets on the Federal Reserve starting to cut interest rates in May. Interest rate futures trading shows that traders now believe the likelihood of the U.S. starting to cut rates in June is much greater than in May. They still believe that the Federal Reserve will cut rates a total of four times by the end of this year. (Jin Ten)
