China will impose an additional 50% tariff on all imported goods originating from the United States
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, on April 8, Eastern Time, the U.S. will further increase the previously announced 34% so-called "reciprocal tariffs" on products imported from China by 50% to 84%.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce announced today that China has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. for its latest tariff increase measures under the WTO dispute resolution mechanism. The U.S. so-called "reciprocal tariff" measures seriously violate WTO rules, and this additional 50% tariff is a mistake on top of a mistake, highlighting the unilateral bullying nature of the U.S. measures. China will firmly defend its legitimate rights and interests according to WTO rules and steadfastly uphold the multilateral trading system and international economic and trade order.
The Tariff Commission of the State Council of China will adjust the tariff rate specified in the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Imposition of Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating from the United States" from 34% to 84%, effective from April 10 at 12:01 PM.
