Trump: If China does not cancel the 34% additional tariffs, the United States will impose an extra 50% tariff on China starting April 9
ChainCatcher news, Trump posted on social media: "China announced yesterday an additional 34% tariff on the United States, which is a new measure on top of its existing tariff measures, non-monetary tariffs, subsidies for violating companies, and long-term exchange rate adjustments. I have previously made it clear that if any country imposes additional retaliatory tariffs on the United States, beyond its existing long-term tariff abuses, the U.S. will immediately respond with higher tariffs.
Therefore, if China fails to withdraw this additional 34% tariff by April 8, 2025, the U.S. will impose an additional 50% tariff on Chinese goods starting April 9. Furthermore, the U.S. will terminate all talks with China regarding its requests. At the same time, the U.S. will immediately begin negotiations with other countries that have requested talks. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
