Bitcoin developers: "Massive" bot spam could lead to the BitcoinDev mailing list being banned by Google
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, regarding "the BitcoinDev mailing list being 'permanently removed' by Google", Bitcoin core developer Bryan Bishop stated that the ban may have been triggered by individuals or bots reporting the Bitcoin mailing list en masse through multiple accounts.
Bishop noted that this is a common tactic used by attackers to ban or censor a community, and pointed out that similar incidents frequently occur on YouTube, X, and TikTok. Bishop suggested that the Bitcoin forum should not be limited to a specific platform, as there are several other platforms available to discuss the development of Bitcoin, including GitHub and the decentralized social network Nostr.
