ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the CEO of the Pakistan Cryptocurrency Council, Bilal Bin Saqib, proposed to utilize the country's surplus energy to power Bitcoin.
On March 21, the issue of mining was discussed at the first meeting of the Cryptocurrency Council. The establishment of the Cryptocurrency Council is in stark contrast to the previous stance of the Pakistani government on cryptocurrencies.
In May 2023, former Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Aisha Ghaus Pasha stated that cryptocurrencies would never be legalized in the country.
