ChainCatcher message, Deribit officially reminds users to be cautious of a new type of recruitment scam. Scammers impersonate recruiters from well-known companies like Deribit, attracting job seekers with high-paying positions, and then lure victims into completing an "online assessment" to install malware, or offer "exclusive onboarding benefits" such as discounted shares to defraud them of money. They even invite candidates to bring their work laptops to fake office locations for interviews.

Deribit points out that these scams primarily target senior employees or developers to gain access to sensitive systems. To prevent such scams, users should verify the authenticity of the recruiter’s account and directly contact the company's HR department through official channels to confirm recruitment information. Deribit expects this type of scam to spread to other industries soon.
