The "Bitcoin Garbage Man" loses appeal, claims he will initiate "final legal measures."
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, James Howells' appeal to recover 8,000 Bitcoin private key hard drives from a UK landfill has been rejected again. He stated that he would seek final relief through the International Human Rights Act.
"The Royal Court of Appeal has denied my request. The unjust system in the UK is at work again," said the early Bitcoin holder, announcing that the next step would be to file a complaint with the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
UK judges believe the case "has no realistic prospect of success" and that there are "no other compelling reasons" to support a hearing.
Howells will argue at the ECHR that the UK courts violated his property rights and the right to a fair trial, stating, "The UK authorities want to cover this up, but I will not let them succeed."
It is worth mentioning that these 8,000 Bitcoins are currently valued at approximately $660 million and were accidentally discarded in a landfill by his former partner in 2013.
