ChainCatcher news, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal cited by CoinDesk on Thursday, a representative of the Trump family has been in negotiations to acquire a stake in Binance's U.S. subsidiary. The report cites sources familiar with the matter, stating that the stake may be acquired through World Liberty Financial, a crypto project supported by the Trump family.
Steve Witkoff, a friend of the U.S. president, is involved in the transaction negotiations. The talks began last year when Binance reached out to Trump's allies, proposing an agreement with the family to allow the cryptocurrency exchange to return to the U.S. Binance.US did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.
