Ripple obtains license from Dubai Financial Services Authority to provide cryptocurrency payment services in the UAE

ChainCatcher news, Arif Amiri, CEO of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), stated that Ripple has received full regulatory approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to provide cross-border crypto payment services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company announced on March 13 that it has obtained its DFSA license, allowing it to operate in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). DIFC is a free economic zone in the UAE with its own tax policies and regulatory framework. This announcement comes nearly six months after the company announced it had received in-principle approval for the DFSA license. On October 1, 2024, Ripple revealed that it is working to obtain DFSA licensing in order to launch its digital asset infrastructure in the UAE.
