Analysis: Trump is unlikely to fulfill all tariff threats
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, Nomura analysts stated in a research report that Trump is unlikely to fulfill all his tariff threats. After delaying the auto tariffs on Canada and Mexico for a month, there are already signs that Trump may abandon the 25% tariffs on these two countries.
As Trump uses some of his tariffs as negotiation tools, conflicts may fluctuate between escalation and de-escalation. However, Trump's behavior during his first term indicates that he is willing to escalate trade conflicts despite market weakness and volatility. Trump's actions so far have led Nomura Securities to be skeptical about a rapid easing of the situation.
