U.S. Secretary of Commerce: Trump is very interested in Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, while other tokens may be treated differently
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the U.S. crypto reserve may be announced on Friday at the first White House crypto summit. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick stated that Trump is very interested in a Bitcoin strategic reserve, while other tokens may be treated differently. He revealed that under Trump's plan, Bitcoin will receive a "unique status."
Howard Lutnick added, "The Bitcoin strategic reserve is something the president is interested in. He talked about it during the campaign, and I think you will see it implemented on Friday, so Bitcoin is one thing, other currencies, other crypto tokens, I think, will be treated differently—positively but differently."
