Trump: The UK and the US are negotiating a trade agreement

ChainCatcher News, U.S. President Trump met with visiting British Prime Minister Starmer. After the meeting, the two held a joint press conference. Regarding topics related to U.S.-U.K. trade and cooperation, Trump stated that the U.S. and the U.K. are negotiating a bilateral trade agreement.

Trump mentioned that the two sides will reach a "great trade deal," and ultimately, a very good agreement for both countries is being worked on, with expectations to finalize it with the U.K. soon. Starmer stated that the two countries have begun to formulate a new economic agreement centered on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to strengthen their trade relationship.

As for Trump's recent threats to impose tariffs on other countries, he indicated that he discussed U.S. tariffs on the U.K. with Starmer, who attempted to persuade him not to impose tariffs on Britain. Trump also stated that if the two sides reach a trade agreement, there would be no need to impose tariffs on the U.K.
