Data: OpenAI's weekly active users reach 400 million, a 33% increase since December

OpenAI's Chief Operating Officer Brad Lightcap stated that as of February this year, the company had 400 million weekly active users, a 33% increase from 300 million in December. Lightcap pointed out that the growth in user numbers is "natural" as ChatGPT becomes more practical and familiar to a broader audience.

Lightcap added, "Overall, people do want these tools, and they see these tools as really valuable." This effect has also spread to its growing enterprise business.

Lightcap stated that the company now has 2 million paid enterprise users, roughly double that of September. According to Lightcap, developer traffic has also doubled in the past six months, with traffic for its "reasoning" model GPT-3 increasing fivefold.
