Nigeria sues Binance for $81.5 billion in economic losses and taxes
ChainCatcher news, according to Reuters, Nigerian authorities have filed a lawsuit against Binance, claiming $79.5 billion in economic losses and $2 billion in unpaid taxes. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) of Nigeria accuses Binance of operating illegally in the country.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria stated that Binance's operations in the country are illegal. Previously, in March 2024, the agency had sued Binance over four tax violation charges, including failure to pay corporate income tax and failure to submit tax returns.
