ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, Swedish blockchain aviation data network company Wingbits will launch satellites via the SpaceX Transporter-13 mission at the end of February to enhance the data verification capabilities of its decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN).

The company's CEO Robin Wingardh stated at the Hong Kong Consensus conference that over 2,200 ground nodes have been deployed in more than 90 countries worldwide, tracking approximately 120,000 unique flights daily.

Wingbits uses Solana testnet tokens to incentivize data providers, differentiating itself from traditional aviation data companies FlightAware and Flightradar24. The company recently completed a $5.6 million second seed funding round backed by investors including Borderless Capital and Bullish Capital.
