Bullish obtains a virtual asset trading platform license in Hong Kong
ChainCatcher news, according to reports, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has granted another license for a virtual asset trading platform, with the virtual asset trading platform Bullish being approved, increasing the number of licensed virtual asset trading platforms in Hong Kong to 10.
Bullish's Senior Vice President and Global Head of Sales, Liu Dehao, stated in a recent interview that Hong Kong is an important business hub, currently employing over 100 staff in the region, and aims to focus on institutional business after obtaining the license. Bullish had previously acquired the comprehensive media, events, and index platform CoinDesk.
Currently, there are 8 platforms on the list of applicants for virtual asset trading platform licenses. The Executive Director of the SFC's Intermediaries Division, Ye Zhiheng, recently mentioned that the market's understanding of the SFC's licensing standards is becoming clearer, and new licenses will be issued, but whether all applicants will receive a license depends on their compliance with the requirements.
