Binance responds to the PI community voting controversy: votes from users in specific regions will be excluded, and the final results are for reference only

ChainCatcher news, Binance Customer Support responded to community users regarding the PI community voting controversy on platform X, stating: "According to relevant requirements, it has been noted in the Simplified Chinese announcement of the 'Binance Community Vote' that users residing in countries or regions such as mainland China will not be counted in the valid voting results.

At the end of the event, we will announce the final valid vote count after excluding votes that do not meet the criteria or are from users in ineligible regions, as well as votes that violate the terms and conditions. The results of this vote are for reference only; whether the project goes live will be evaluated and decided based on the official listing review process and standards."

ChainCatcher previously reported that according to official news, Binance initiated a vote on "Should PI be listed on Binance?" Users must log in to a verified Binance account and hold at least $5 equivalent in assets in their trading account for their vote to be valid.

Each user can vote once during the voting period. The voting time is: 2025-02-17 14:45 (UTC) to 2025-02-27 23:59 (UTC).
