The SEC is seeking new members for its Investor Advisory Committee
ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoin News, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is publicly soliciting new members for its Investor Advisory Committee. This committee was established under Section 911 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and is primarily responsible for advising the SEC on regulatory priorities, securities products, trading strategies, and other matters.
SEC Acting Chair Mark T. Uyeda stated that diverse investor perspectives will help the SEC better fulfill its mission. Applicants must submit their applications via email by March 15, 2025. Notably, after Uyeda succeeded Gary Gensler as Acting Chair, the SEC's regulatory stance on cryptocurrencies has shifted, and Commissioner Hester Peirce is currently leading a new working group dedicated to revising digital asset regulations.
