FOX reporter: The Federal Reserve has a more open attitude towards digital assets
ChainCatcher news, FOX reporter Eleanor Terrett posted on social media, "The Federal Reserve's narrative on Crypto is changing. In two speeches last Friday, Republican Federal Reserve governors Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller expressed a more open attitude towards digital assets and their future in the financial system. Their remarks are noteworthy because:
- Trump may choose one of them to replace Michael Barr as the next Vice Chair for Supervision (responsible for overseeing regulation and the Federal Reserve's interaction with banks and cryptocurrencies);
- They represent a shift in tone and attitude, as they had previously voted to make it more difficult for banks to engage in cryptocurrency policies. Both also voted against the application for custodial banks to become members of the Federal Reserve."
