The New York Stock Exchange submitted a Cardano ETF application for Grayscale

ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, NYSE Arca, a subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), submitted a spot Cardano ETF application to the SEC on February 10 on behalf of Grayscale. According to the application documents, the product will be custodied by Coinbase Custody Trust Company and managed by BNY Mellon Asset Servicing.

As the ninth largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of over $25 billion, the application for the Cardano ETF is the latest development in the recent competition for cryptocurrency ETFs. In the previous weeks, multiple cryptocurrency ETF applications have emerged in the market, including those for Dogecoin, XRP, Litecoin, and Solana.

The SEC is currently advancing proposals related to crypto ETFs, including reviewing the physical creation and redemption mechanisms for the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF and the 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF proposed by the Cboe BZX exchange.
