CoinGecko Analysis Report: The market capitalization of publicly traded blockchain companies accounts for only 5.8% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, and mining companies are gradually diversifying
ChainCatcher news, according to crowdfundinsider, CoinGecko's latest analysis report shows that the total market capitalization of publicly traded blockchain companies worldwide is $199.5 billion, accounting for 5.8% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization. The report points out that 46 blockchain companies are mostly listed on NASDAQ and are divided into five sectors: cryptocurrency mining, exchanges, finance and investment, technology, and others.
Among them, the cryptocurrency mining sector is the most dominant, covering companies such as Mara Holdings, Core Scientific, and Riot Blockchain. Notably, Bitcoin mining companies are diversifying, expanding into high-performance computing (HPC) and AI data centers.
In terms of exchanges, Coinbase has a market capitalization of $74 billion, far exceeding other exchanges, while Binance, despite having the largest trading volume globally, has yet to go public and faces regulatory challenges. The report concludes that blockchain companies are undergoing transformation, and the diversification of mining companies along with Coinbase's dominant position may have a profound impact on the industry's landscape in the future.
