Bitdeer invested $21.7 million to acquire land and permits in Canada to build a 99 megawatt Bitcoin mining facility
ChainCatcher news, Bitcoin mining company Bitdeer has invested $21.7 million to complete a fully permitted power project deal on 19 acres of land near Fox Creek, Alberta. This acquisition enables Bitdeer to build an on-site natural gas power plant and gain approval for a 99 MW grid interconnection with the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO).
Bitdeer expects to collaborate with an engineering and construction company to power the plant in the fourth quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, the company plans to develop a 99 MW data center at the site specifically for Bitcoin mining.
