Musk warns some Reddit users that threatening DOGE employees is illegal behavior

ChainCatcher News, the head of the U.S. government's efficiency department (DOGE), Elon Musk, today retweeted a post from X user "Reddit Lies." The post exposed multiple anonymous Reddit users threatening DOGE department employees, with some content even calling for extreme actions against them and suggesting searching for their addresses for targeted actions.

Musk retweeted the post and stated, "They (the relevant Reddit users) have broken the law." Shortly after, Musk released a statement from U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Edward R. Martin Jr. The statement indicated that the Justice Department had conducted a preliminary review of the relevant evidence and found that individuals and groups had indeed made threats specifically targeting DOGE employees. The department is currently working closely with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies and has initiated prosecutorial procedures. Musk commented, "Don't mess with DOGE."
