ChainCatcher news, Musk stated on the X platform that as of January 29, the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has prompted 24 government departments, including the Department of Education, GSA, OPM, EPA, Department of Labor, Department of Treasury, and Department of Defense, to terminate 85 contracts related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), totaling approximately $1 billion.

It is reported that DEI typically refers to "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," a concept involving social and organizational management aimed at promoting equal opportunities and treatment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, genders, races, and abilities in work and society. Critics argue that an excessive pursuit of DEI may negatively impact the operational efficiency of social organizations.
