ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, an informal on-chain vote initiated by the Ethereum community supports Danny Ryan as the new leader of the foundation. Among 296 wallets holding over 50,000 ETH (worth approximately $160 million), 99% voted in favor of Ryan, but the vote has no formal validity.

The poll was conducted at votedannyryan.com, where individuals could participate through a simple approval voting system, casting either a yes or no vote for Ryan using their ETH wallets. The voting process is designed to be gasless, allowing for broader community participation.

Fabrice Cheng, who claims to be an "Ethereum OG builder," created the voting website. According to Cheng, he initiated the "votedannyryan" campaign and its associated website to provide a "peaceful and objective way" for the broader Ethereum community—ETH holders, stakers, and DeFi participants—to express their views.
