Austrian crypto unicorn company Bitpanda obtains German MiCA license
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Austrian crypto unicorn Bitpanda has received a MiCA license issued by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), becoming the second crypto asset service provider (CASP) to obtain this license. The license is effective immediately, allowing Bitpanda to operate in all 27 member states of the EU.
Bitpanda CEO Eric Demuth emphasized that the EU needs to learn from the U.S. experience and strengthen the enforcement of MiCA regulations to prevent non-compliant platforms from continuing to operate. He pointed out that the U.S. is rapidly positioning itself as a global crypto hub, and the EU needs to take more proactive measures to maintain its competitive advantage.
