ChainCatcher news, according to TheMinerMag, claims that Mintvest, a company holding 18.2% of Coinmint's shares, has filed a lawsuit against NYDIG in the U.S. District Court for Puerto Rico. The lawsuit alleges that, based on "information and belief," NYDIG acquired Coinmint for $200 million but failed to pay Mintvest for its share in the company. Mintvest is seeking $36 million in damages from NYDIG.

NYDIG declined to comment on the case and did not clarify its investment in Coinmint. However, recent developments suggest that NYDIG may be taking over the idle power capacity at Coinmint's facilities to expand its proprietary mining operations.
