Sources: The SEC is ready to push forward with cryptocurrency policy reforms immediately after Trump takes office
ChainCatcher news, according to a Reuters report, three insiders have stated that senior Republican officials at the SEC are preparing to reform the agency's cryptocurrency policies as early as next week after Trump takes office.
Two of the insiders indicated that measures being considered by Commissioners Hester Peirce and Mark Uyeda include initiating relevant procedures to ultimately formulate guidance or rules that clarify under what circumstances the agency will consider cryptocurrencies as securities, and reviewing some cryptocurrency enforcement cases currently in court.
Previous news reported that the Trump team is reviewing unresolved cryptocurrency enforcement cases at the SEC or may suspend some enforcement actions.
