Airdrop Compilation No. 337: Must-Grab Project — Fiamma (Technical Team Behind Babylon and BOB Re-staking)
After Fractal, there hasn't been much major development in the Btc ecosystem for a long time. Not only has there been no significant progress, but the community almost caused Solv to crash, which is really frustrating. However, this doesn't prevent us from exploring quality projects.
Today, I discovered a promising testnet project from Babylon called Fiamma. Let's see how to get involved.
This article is divided into the following sections:
- Fiamma Project Analysis
- Background of Fiamma
- Fiamma Testnet Tutorial
- Fiamma Galxe Event
1. Fiamma Project Analysis
Fiamma is the first project to realize the vision of BitVM and is currently a key technical team supported by Babylon and BOB. Although Fiamma is still in the testnet phase, its prospects are promising.
The crypto dog is a blogger who teaches people how to fish, rather than just providing a superficial tutorial. Otherwise, my followers in the circle can only be tools, and their growth will be very slow.
So before introducing Fiamma, let's first discuss BitVM.
(1) What is BitVM
In December 2023, Robin Linus, the head of ZeroSync, published a white paper titled "BitVM: Compute Anything On Bitcoin," which opened up the feasibility of programmability on Bitcoin.
According to the theory in the white paper, similar to the Ethereum network, BitVM is designed as a solution that allows complex computations and the deployment of smart contracts on the Bitcoin network. BitVM can execute complex calculations off-chain while verifying the results on-chain, enabling the Bitcoin ecosystem to not only meet transaction needs but also create more complex DApps on the BTC layer, while retaining Bitcoin's security and decentralization features.
Currently, there are many teams dedicated to the research and development of BitVM, including:
- ZeroSync, founded by BitVM creator Robin
- BTC L2 projects focused on BitVM, including Citrea, BOB, and Alpen Labs
- Fiamma, which is building the BitVM Bitcoin bridge and BitVM-driven ZKP verification layer
From the development progress, Fiamma is currently the only project that can implement the BitVM solution.
Fiamma is a core contributor to BitVM and a founding member of the BitVM Alliance: https://coinvoice.pro/24h/4946646096812183553
(2) Brief Introduction to Fiamma
Fiamma has two infrastructures: Fiamma Bridge (a practical trustless BitVM Bitcoin bridge) and Fiamma Layer (a ZKP verification layer powered by BitVM). Fiamma Bridge brings Bitcoin's security and minimal trust to all ecosystems, not just BTC L2. It is currently the only project that has implemented BitVM technology.
As a tech-driven project, developers can innovate freely on Bitcoin through Fiamma, beyond EVM or SVM, shaping a new Bitcoin ecosystem.
The main experience in the testnet currently is Fiamma Bridge, a revolutionary tool for cross-chain BTC assets, where the mapped mamaBTC always maintains a 1:1 ratio with BTC on the Bitcoin main chain.
Many might think that the mapped BTC is just the previously wrapped BTC. Since 2020, WBTC, BTCB, and renBTC have already been used in Ethereum-based DeFi applications, so creating another one seems redundant.
Don't forget that WBTC, BTCB, and renBTC are all centralized, and the possibility of centralized malfeasance cannot be ruled out, as shown in the image below:
What if they really tampered with WBTC? Therefore, centralized solutions ultimately face significant challenges.
Through Fiamma Bridge, users can transfer BTC assets to any chain, such as Eth, Base, ARB, and Solana. The BTC assets generated through Fiamma Bridge always correspond 1:1 to BTC main chain assets.
Here are some official statements to enhance the description of Fiamma Bridge:
- No need to fully trust third parties: Introduces a minimal trust security model, ensuring that as long as there is at least one honest challenger and operator, Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals can remain secure;
- Everyone can participate in challenges: Anyone can act as a challenger to ensure the absolute safety of funds, truly achieving trustlessness;
- Efficient cross-chain interaction: Opens the door for BTC users to safer and higher-yielding DeFi and cross-chain applications.
(3) Fiamma's Strength and Background
Fiamma is currently a key technical team heavily backed by Babylon and BOB. Babylon has previously stated: "The collaboration with Fiamma is unprecedented, with the most investment in both money and resources. We hold several meetings each week and have intense discussions about design and technology in our group."
It is reported that Babylon has invested in three projects, and the support for Fiamma, in terms of both funding and resources, is the largest.
In addition to strategic investments from Babylon and BOB, Fiamma has also secured $4 million in funding from Lightspeed Faction, L2IV, and other VCs;
- Lightspeed Faction is a well-known crypto fund under Lightspeed, one of the world's top tech VCs;
- L2IV is a crypto VC focused on ZK and Bitcoin infrastructure projects;

Technically, Fiamma is developing a bridge from Bitcoin to Babylon Chain and other Cosmos ecosystem chains with minimal trust. Babylon Chain has locked approximately $6 billion worth of BTC (57,000+ BTC). With such a large amount of funds, Fiamma Bridge may not be limited to providing trustless cross-chain participation in DeFi and payments, and more benefits are expected in the future.
2. Fiamma Testnet Tutorial
Fiamma updated new features yesterday. The main task for doing Fiamma now is to collect points (Fluff Energy) and then unlock exclusive NFT fragments. Collecting 6 fragments will earn you a Mama Code NFT.
The airdrop is expected to be similar to the recent airdrop from DuckChain, where the rarer the NFT obtained during the testnet phase, the more airdrops you will receive.
Airdrop Steps:
Step 1: Go to the Fiamma Official Website
- Relevant link: https://test-bridge.fiammalabs.io/register?code=XVlDLk
- Connect your wallet (use OKX wallet, relevant link: https://www.okx.com/zh-hans/web3?channelid=ACE514158)
- Bind Twitter
- Enter referral code: XVlDLk
Step 2: Claim Testnet Tokens
It is recommended to claim water in the official DC. To claim water in the DC, your account level needs to reach level 1 (100xp). XP increases once a minute, with each increase being 3-5xp, so it takes about 20 minutes in the DC to level up to level 1, after which you can send your address in the faucet channel to claim water.
- The official website also has channels for claiming Holesky ETH and SBTC, as shown in the image below:
- The official website recommends claiming SBTC on OKX, but you might not be able to claim it (as shown in the image below)
sBTC Claiming (using Native Segwit and Taproot address types):
- Address 1: https://signetfaucet.com/
- Address 2: https://bitcoinfaucet.uo1.net/send.php
- Address 3: https://bitcoinsignetfaucet.com/
- Other claiming methods:
https://t.me/sBTCFaucet_bot (offers a high quota, can meet the tasks below, but the bot may not always function properly)
https://t.me/TestcoinFaucetNewBot
https://bitcoinsignetfaucet.com/
If you don't know which address to fill in on the faucet websites, please copy from the BTC wallet section on the Fiamma official website:
The address in the image corresponds to BTC Signet in the OKX wallet. After switching, you can check if the sbtc has arrived:
- Claim Holesky ETH, you can use the second link on the official website, which is fast for mining. However, it requires ENS; if you don't have one, you can register at https://app.ens.domains/

Step 4: Complete Daily Tasks
Complete two tasks each day:
- Make 1 deposit on Fiamma Bridge (1000 Fluff Energy daily)
- Make 1 withdrawal on Fiamma Bridge (3000 Fluff Energy daily)
(1) Deposit Tutorial
- Click "Go deposit" on the left
- Enter the deposit page
- Input ETH address
- Input amount (the deposit amount needs to be between 0.00105 and 0.01, so the BTC you claimed might not be enough; work hard to level up in the DC)
After completion, it will display as shown below. Wait for the block confirmation to successfully complete the withdrawal task:
(2) Withdrawal Tutorial
- As shown in the image below, click "Go deposit"
- Select BTC address
- Input amount
- Confirm
After completing the deposit and withdrawal tasks, remember to click "wish" on the official website to check in. This needs to be done daily.
3. Fiamma Galxe Event
The Galxe event ends on January 31. Completing all tasks will earn you a commemorative badge and 1000 Fluff Energy;
- It is important to note that when filling in the BTC address for Galxe, do not write it casually (as shown in the image below)
- Please copy from the BTC section on the official website after linking your wallet:
That's all for today's tutorial. The Fiamma testnet uses an NFT model, and it is expected that the Fiamma testnet NFTs will have high value similar to Babylon testnet NFTs in the future.
