Fidelity Report: Ethereum Leads with Strong Fundamentals, Solana Shines in Short-Term Performance
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Fidelity Digital Assets stated in its 2025 outlook report that Ethereum outperforms Solana in the long term due to fundamental factors such as developer activity, total value locked (TVL), and stablecoin supply, while Solana has an advantage in the short term due to its rapidly growing transaction speed and low costs.
The report noted that Solana's revenue and TVL are growing rapidly, but its reliance on memecoin trading trends performs strongly in bull markets and may weaken in bear markets. In contrast, Ethereum's fundamentals are less dependent on speculation, providing stronger long-term stability. Solana plans to significantly enhance transaction speed through the Firedancer upgrade, while Ethereum's Pectra upgrade focuses on functionality, scalability, and user security, but has a smaller direct impact on the investment value of ETH.
Fidelity is also optimistic about Bitcoin, believing that more countries and institutions may incorporate Bitcoin into their asset allocation by 2025, and expects stablecoins and tokenized assets to continue to grow, with new innovations emerging in the DeFi space. Fidelity emphasizes that it is "still not too late" to enter the crypto market.
