Non-farm report: October and November revised down by 8,000 people

ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics disclosed that the non-farm payrolls for October were revised up from 36,000 to 43,000; the non-farm payrolls for November were revised down from 227,000 to 212,000. After revisions, the total non-farm payrolls for October and November were 8,000 lower than before the revisions.

In 2024, the number of jobs increased by 2.2 million (an average monthly increase of 186,000), lower than the 3 million increase in 2023 (an average monthly increase of 251,000). The unemployment rate in December remained largely unchanged at 4.1%. After rising earlier in 2024, the unemployment rate has remained between 4.1% and 4.2% for the past 7 months. The number of unemployed in December was 6.9 million, showing little change.
