Autonomys December Progress Report: Mainnet Officially Launched, Steady Progress in Multiple Fields
Written by: Autonomys Network
Compiled by: Yomi
00 Summary
We conclude 2024 with robust results, successfully launching the first phase of the mainnet, laying the foundation for what we believe will be a transformative 2025. From protocol stability to new partnerships and user growth, we have continuously validated the technical foundation and long-term roadmap of the network.
01 Key Metrics and Milestones
02 Protocol & Research
- Phase-1 Launch Review:
Our core consensus chain remains strong, with miners actively participating and earning rewards. Storage capacity continues to grow, highlighting the robustness and feasibility of our platform. We regularly update "Space Acres" (our farming client) to optimize user experience.
- Phase-2 Preparation:
The Auto EVM (formerly Nova) domain is being tested in the Taurus testnet. We are focusing on cross-domain messaging and performance tuning, aiming for a smooth transition to Phase-2 in the first quarter of 2025.
- Scalability and XDM Design:
We continue to enhance the security and performance of scalability and XDM design. For example, while most blockchain projects support only 8 to 20 shards, our design can support over 100 shards and achieve near-optimal performance based on in-depth analysis.
03 Products
- 0xArgu-mint:
Many so-called "crypto-native" AI agents are merely tokens with no practical value. We launched the first "on-chain" AI agent 'Argu-mint', an interactive agent with permanent memory stored on the Autonomys network. Its value belongs to the AI3 L1 token, rather than useless "ghost tokens." This proof of concept demonstrates Autonomys's positioning as a foundational layer in the AI 3.0 era.
- Astral: Our block explorer is ready for the mainnet, featuring a refreshed user interface and fixing recent bugs for a smoother experience.
- Auto Drive: The UI/API proof of concept has been completed, aiming to simplify the developer workflow.
- Autonomys Agents & Auto SDK: With the launch of the new Auto Drive interface, we are focusing on improving agent functionalities. Early on-chain testing has provided clear feedback, helping us further refine AI-driven decentralized applications (dApps).
04 Partnerships & Business Expansion
- New Partnerships:
- FoxWallet: Integrating a more user-friendly multi-chain experience to simplify user onboarding and transaction management.
- Secret Network: Collaborating to bring decentralized confidential computing (DeCC) to the Autonomys network, supporting developers in building privacy-preserving AI-driven dApps (super dApps) and on-chain agents.
- SEA DePIN: Community organization SEA DePIN in the Asia-Pacific region collaborates to enhance our visibility in the area.
- TEE Collaborations:
We continue to explore secure computing collaborations to ensure privacy protection for AI centralized workloads.
05 Marketing & Community
- Messari Intelligence on Chain (IoC Report): Messari released the first IoC report on the Autonomys network, delving into the Proof-of-Archival-Storage (PoAS) consensus mechanism and providing technical insights on data availability and permanent storage.
- TON Foundation User Growth Campaign: We launched a month-long community-driven growth campaign in collaboration with TON Society Hong Kong, Multiple Network, UXLink, and 12 other projects.
- Product-Driven TEE & RAG Demonstration:
A proof of concept demonstration showcasing Autonomys's decentralized three-layer solution (permanent DSN, data access, private computing) has been released.
- Website Version 2 Release: The Autonomys website V1.2 update is live! A new "Auto SDK" page has been added to improve the onboarding experience for developers.
- Community Incentives: We held the last "Miner Office Hour" of 2024 and launched the "Auto Horizon Developer Challenge." The global ambassador program has transitioned to an on-demand model to better match required skills.
- Shenzhen, China, Developer Sync: Our first offline developer sync event was held in Shenzhen, where Ning gave a keynote speech introducing the Autonomys network, attracting a large number of developers.
- Major Media Coverage:
- Interview with CEO Todd Ruoff on Messari's Unqualified Opinions podcast
- Interview with CEO Todd Ruoff on CNBC Crypto World
- Messari IoC Report (Chinese version)
- Interview with Protocol Lead Dariia Porechna on The News Forum's Open Source segment
06 Next Steps & Roadmap
- Mainnet Phase-2 (Q1 2025): We will complete testing on the Taurus testnet and focus on launching the Auto EVM domain. Our emphasis remains on performance, cross-chain messaging, and guiding developers.
- Asia-Pacific and Global Expansion: We continue to seek new partnerships, particularly in the areas of TEE providers, DePIN solutions, and DeAI collaborations, to drive widespread global adoption.
07 CEO's Final Message
"We conclude 2024 with the successful launch of mainnet Phase-1 and look forward to embracing Phase-2 and beyond with a sense of mission. The robustness of the network and the enthusiasm of the community provide a solid foundation for our AI 3.0 vision. In the future, we will focus on mainnet Phase-2 and continue to grow the ecosystem. Your trust and support have made these achievements possible today."
