Towards the Fully On-Chain AGI: Artela TGE and Future Development Plans
Author: Jerry, Founder of Artela Network
The year 2024 is a transformative year for Artela and its community. In March, Artela launched the incentivized testnet, marking the beginning of the new year. Subsequently, multiple updates were rolled out to prepare for production-level deployment. This summer, after the launch of the Renaissance Campaign, the response was enthusiastic, with over 3.5 million users participating in testnet tasks, conducting stress tests on the Artela testnet through large-scale on-chain activities, enhancing both performance and security of the Artela network.
Today, I am pleased to announce that Artela is ready for prime time. We are about to transition from testnet to mainnet, and the highly anticipated TGE will take place in the next two weeks.
From High-Performance EVM to Fully On-Chain AI Agents
Artela initially started as a high-performance EVM-compatible blockchain, utilizing an innovative tech stack to enhance on-chain capabilities. However, as we evolved, the advantages of Aspect Programming became evident, paving the way for Artela's Fully On-Chain AI Agents. With this vision, Artela aims to become the first Layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for Fully On-Chain AI Agents, ushering in a new era of decentralized intelligence.
What are Fully On-Chain AI Agents, and why do we need them?
To understand their importance, let’s take a step back. For years, artificial intelligence and blockchain have been developing in parallel, but only recently have they begun to meaningfully converge. The emergence of crypto AI Agents has shown tremendous potential, attracting global attention.
However, current AI Agents are still in their early stages, often limited to superficial functions, such as chatting with users on social media. They lack depth, autonomy, and flexibility, especially in executing on-chain tasks (like wallet creation and simple transactions), where their capabilities remain relatively basic, and overall development is still in the nascent stage.
We envision a scenario where Fully On-Chain AI Agents proactively manage all on-chain activities. Despite improvements in wallet and dApp interfaces, blockchains are fundamentally still not suited for human interaction, but they are very well-suited for machine intelligence for the following reasons:
- AI Agents do not forget 256-bit codes.
- They do not lose your keys.
- They operate around the clock in a world that never sleeps.
Core Challenges: Trust and Autonomy
As AI Agents become more prevalent, trust issues become critical, especially for key tasks in the crypto world. Current AI Agents heavily rely on centralized systems—meaning they lack transparent systems. To fully realize their potential, we need deeper blockchain integration to ensure trust, transparency, and security.
This is precisely the significance of Fully On-Chain AI Agents. Here are some of their main advantages:
1. Transparency and Trust
- Immutable Logic: AI Agents operate on tamper-proof smart contracts, ensuring their actions are completely transparent and unchangeable.
- Auditable Interactions: Every action is recorded on the blockchain, creating an auditable history.
- Trustless Operations: Users can rely on the system itself rather than centralized authorities, ensuring fair and predictable outcomes.
2. Autonomy and Decentralization
- Self-Sufficient Operations: AI Agents can autonomously execute transactions, interact with smart contracts, and manage on-chain tasks without human intervention.
- Decentralized Execution: By operating through a distributed network, AI Agents can eliminate single points of failure.
Looking Ahead: Artela's Development Plan for 2025
We have a clear vision for 2025: Laying the groundwork for Fully On-Chain AGI! We will focus on three key areas:
1. Solidifying Artela L1 Blockchain Development:
We will continue to enhance scalability and usability to ensure Artela becomes a robust platform capable of supporting Fully On-Chain AI Agents.
2. Advancing the Fully On-Chain AI Agents Framework:
Through projects like FocEliza, we will lead and contribute to open-source frameworks that enable developers to create more complex Fully On-Chain AI Agents.
3. Collaborating with Ecosystem Partners to Build Consumer-Grade Applications:
By collaborating with developers and ecosystem partners, we will drive product development aimed at consumer-grade applications.
Fully On-Chain AGI - The Ultimate Goal of Artela Network
The journey towards Fully On-Chain AGI has just begun, but we are very confident about it. 2025 will be a pivotal year for us to break boundaries and reach new heights, redefining the integration of AI and blockchain.
