Musk announced changes to the X algorithm to maximize users' regret-free usage time, facing widespread opposition
ChainCatcher news, Musk announced that he will soon modify the X algorithm to prioritize content deemed informative or educational, a move that has faced widespread opposition.
Musk stated that the planned changes are aimed at addressing "too much negative news" on X. In a social media post on January 3, he wrote: "Our goal is to maximize the time users spend on the platform without regret. Too much negative news being pushed, technically increases user time spent, but does not increase the time users spend without regret."
In response, users on X described the algorithm changes as a form of censorship and questioned Musk about who has the authority to decide what constitutes "negative content" on the platform.
