Fox reporter: Trump decides whether to re-nominate SEC Commissioner Crenshaw, nominated by the Democrats
ChainCatcher news, according to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett's post on the X platform, after the Senate Banking Committee abandoned efforts to push for the renomination of anti-crypto SEC Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw, Crenshaw remains on the committee and can serve until her successor is confirmed or until Congress adjourns next year. According to congressional procedures, the minority party (in this case, the Democrats) typically recommends candidates to fill minority party seats on the committee. The president can choose to heed their recommendations, but he is not obligated to do so. Therefore, the Democrats may propose Crenshaw's renomination again at the request of Elizabeth Warren, but whether she will be renominated will be up to Donald Trump himself.
