Remembering Bitcoin breaking $100,000: Perhaps "evil" and "justice" are synonyms

"A.k.a. What Can Save You, Our Shared Bitcoin"
From the perspective of currency properties, Bitcoin indeed cannot fulfill its role. However, it must be acknowledged that crypto aims to achieve some form of disruption, but disruption has never been an easy task. Sometimes, it requires leveraging all available forces, whether those forces are good or bad. Since the U.S. SEC approved the listing of Bitcoin spot ETFs, Bitcoin has gradually become a plaything for Wall Street capital and politicians, far from its original mission of becoming a "decentralized currency."
On the other hand, the media effect triggered by Bitcoin's price surpassing $100,000 has successfully brought crypto and decentralization into the mainstream public eye.
Behind Bitcoin breaking the $100,000 mark lies not only the power of the decentralized community but also the influence of many other interest groups, including the Wall Street capital that decentralization seeks to disrupt. It is hard to say who is borrowing power from whom.
From the crypto perspective, this is a successful marketing event for "decentralization" achieved through capital power. However, from the viewpoint of capital or politicians, it may be a different story.
Crypto is still quite immature. Yet, many of its proposed innovations and concepts, such as decentralization, sovereignty, and privacy protection, are issues that society must take seriously.
Leveraging power for development, or to put it more bluntly, serving the "evil," should be a prominent characteristic of the crypto industry. This characteristic can be traced back to the original Bitcoin.
The idealistic decentralization of Bitcoin is supported by a very primitive token incentive mechanism. The earliest mainstream applications of Bitcoin were also through black markets and illegal activities, including the later infamous ICOs, and even today's memes.
"Justice" or "Evil" Might Be Synonyms
The crypto industry is very interesting; it has idealists who want to change the world and those who purely seek to profit through deception. More interestingly, these "bad people" who aim to deceive through the industry inadvertently promote the growth and development of the industry through their misdeeds.
There is always a voice in the industry calling for a return to the roots, advocating for orthodox development. However, behind orthodoxy, one cannot ignore the laws governing the world's operations. Human greed, desire, and dissatisfaction—these "evil" terms—are a form of natural selection, the driving force behind human and societal evolution.
They are intertwined with survival.
Sometimes, defeating evil requires you to become more evil than evil itself. But what exactly is evil? Or which kind of evil is more evil? After witnessing the packaged righteous figures in the Lolita Island incident, it seems that overt "evil" might be more straightforward than the concealed justice?
An even more important question is how to understand "evil."
Or perhaps, behind the world's advancement, we should consider how to accommodate, parallel, or balance.
And this is precisely what crypto aims to achieve:
"to build a reliable distributed system on top of unreliable infrastructure"
Within this, perhaps "evil" and "justice" have never been opposites but rather synonyms, relying on each other to achieve mutual success.
Perhaps crypto can serve as a container for "evil" and "justice" to advance hand in hand.
Does Logic Really Exist?
The development of many things is difficult to explain through logic, especially when what seems absurd becomes reality.
But what exactly is absurd or ridiculous? What is logical?
Do things that seem logical truly adhere to logic? Are some things that appear absurd really ridiculous? What force is driving the development of these seemingly absurd events?
For example, some people find it absurd to view tokens as money. However, from a tax perspective, treating the blockchain as a nation and tokens as money is not without reason, as it involves why fiat currency can become a universal currency. Some scholars believe that the widespread circulation of fiat currency is due to the taxation behavior associated with its form.
But do things that seem logical truly adhere to logic? Or does this logic still fit the current scenario? For instance, must currency possess the three functions of SoV, UoV, and/or MoE? Does the account necessarily need to be valued in stable currency? What is the significance of SoV? Will the future SoV still take the form of currency?
Or must crypto necessarily be decentralized…
Are we overlooking something more important??
I don't know. But I believe we cannot just focus on TPS, UX, DX, composability, or even decentralization. This is also why I like Cosmos, and why I like Anoma; the essence of Cosmos is Sovereignty, and Anoma's starting point is reconstructing collaborative mechanisms—hence it proposes "intention," the pivot for collaboration between individuals.
But I also feel that a straightforward approach is unlikely to truly solve problems; excessive focus can lead one to overlook the "gifts" that "God" sends you, and these gifts often come wrapped in misunderstood exteriors, just like memecoins, which require us to experience them without bias.
Yes, I am saying we need to feel "evil," as it may hold the key to unraveling the puzzle.
Is Some Accuracy Important? Yes, but Compared to Other Things, It Might Not Be That Important
Sometimes, these difficult-to-explain things are often referred to as "art," "intuition," or "impulse," which usually conflict with rationality. If not handled well, they can sometimes be interpreted as "foolishness."
But this is a more powerful energy that erupts from within.
Humans are products of reason and logic; humanity stands proudly at the top of the food chain because of thought, reason, and logic. But do not forget the primal impulses that support our survival; they have facilitated countless meaningful moments in our lives, and they are precious—please cherish them.
To some extent, the spirit of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency embodies a significant primal impulse, and it is highly controversial. Yet, the controversy represents that it also has many affirming aspects. Perhaps there are many scams cloaked in idealism, but you cannot deny that its original intention and vision are rooted in goodwill and integrity. For the new forces that wish to disrupt despite facing tremendous resistance, you must seize every possible power.
When the main road is blocked, you have to "take a detour."
Is some accuracy important? Yes, but compared to other things, it might not be that important.
When tools and resources lag behind and cannot keep pace with the development of other forces, how do you catch up? The only choice is to ignore the rules and not hit the brakes. Ride the wind, grow through mistakes, and continuously correct your path.
Some see negativity, but you must understand this is power; what needs to be done is to harness it.
I understand the development of crypto as a beast that devours all powers without hitting the brakes.
But this beast always has an anchor or a vision.
It is hard to describe what this vision specifically is, but you know this vision will guide crypto, becoming the helmsman that steers crypto through the mud, chaos, and fog, leading the way.
Sometimes you don't need to understand the existing rules; just push for the right things.
How to Save You, Bitcoin as the Beacon of Hope Carrying Crypto's Aspirations
When Bitcoin broke through $100,000, it had already fulfilled its mission. Although it is the enlightenment and faith of the entire crypto world, it now seems to have only scarcity left. Because the distributed chips have not been well allocated, it is hard to say whether it will ultimately become a plaything.
If Bitcoin ultimately becomes just a plaything of capital like stocks, then from the perspective of crypto, it would be meaningless.
Originally, I thought there should be a new, fairer token/NFT or any form to commemorate Satoshi and Bitcoin.
But I think Bitcoin will always be Bitcoin; it cannot be replaced by any token. What we should do is initiate a plan to save Bitcoin.
Enlightenment should not be forgotten, nor should it become a plaything. No token can be more symbolic than Bitcoin. And symbolism is never something abstract; it is very important.
What Does This Have to Do with All of Us?
We have been trapped in powerless rules for too long, to the point where we have forgotten that we are also the most solid part of this society.
The description of the vast majority of people is often "a mob." It seems that "the mob" is merely a group that is deceived and exploited or can only produce negative effects. But within every "mob," there is a moral compass belonging to itself. Do not let reality and rules swallow your inner sense of justice. Do not let yourself truly become "the mob."
What kind of world do you hope this world will become? This question is crucial for every individual's will. Because it is the foundation for forming powerful forces, what we need to do is maintain this foundation, so that even if other interest parties leverage it, the ultimate benefits will still be composed of our shared vision.
In the end, I wish we can create miracles.
I also wish for the world, for us to have the courage to face our true selves, for us to become increasingly resilient, for all beings to find that moment that lights up their lives, and for all beings to possess autonomy.
