SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce outlines three things the SEC needs to do under Trump's leadership
ChainCatcher News, U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce (also known as "Crypto Mom") mentioned "Operation Chokepoint 2.0" during an interview with Fox Business and outlined three things she believes need to be done under the new SEC leadership after Trump to help clarify the cryptocurrency industry:
Stop government regulatory chokepoint activities, with the first step being to halt attempts to prevent cryptocurrencies from obtaining the services they need (such as custody) to move forward;
Clarify what falls outside the SEC's jurisdiction, what is not a security, and which entities do not need to consider the SEC's regulatory framework;
Collaborate with entities involved in cryptocurrency to figure out how existing rules apply and where adjustments are needed. This requires a collective exercise. It needs to be done in public so that everyone can participate. I believe we can find a good starting point relatively quickly.
